Dudley MBC requires suitably experienced contractor(s) to undertake construction works to the Council's social housing stock, undertaking refurbishment works to tenanted and void properties. Contractor(s) are required to supplement the existing in-house workforce but may also be required to operate as a main Contractor. The contract will deliver predominantly internal improvements to the Council"s housing stock including general building works, improvements and refurbishment of void properties, replacement of kitchens, bathrooms and other planned improvements to tenanted properties to maintain the Decent Homes Standard. A nominal amount of external improvements shall be required to be undertaken and ad-hoc responsive repairs to tenanted properties working independently or alongside the Council"s in-house workforce. Eco improvement works could also be incorporated into the contract arrangement. This contract could be used by other directorates and divisions of the Council or for Council owned buildings. It is likely that more than one contractor will be appointed in order to successfully deliver the scope of works outlined above, but contractor(s) will be expected to deliver the defined scope of works in its entirety for the whole of the contract. Extensions may be offered to any of the successful Contractor(s) but not necessarily all of them. The successful Contractor(s) will be expected to adopt collaborative working arrangements in order to maximise service delivery and other benefits to Dudley MBC.
