The Metropolitan Borough Council of Sefton intends to secure the services of experienced and suitably qualified organisations to provide Sexual Health Services across the Borough of Sefton.
In 2008, following an open procurement exercise the community sexual health service was awarded to ISIS, which was then part of Sefton PCT.
Following structural changes in NHS; ISIS now sits within the Southport and Ormskirk Hospital Trust and is currently delivered as an integrated community and GUM sexual health service.
From April 1st 2013 NHS Sefton ceased to exist and the Public Health function became the responsibility of the Local Authority. All existing contractual arrangements were transitioned into the Local Authority and extended until April 2014. This presented a timely opportunity to review all service provision in light of revised Public Health priorities and recent government evidence /guidance. Following this review of service specification and KPI's the council is currently in the position to procure through an open procurement process in order to award the contract. Submissions will be invited from Sole Contractors, Prime Contractors with sub-contracted third parties providing some of the service or consortia of agencies working in partnership and exercising effective "end-to-end” accountability for all elements of the service.
