Radio masts. The current contract is for the Provision of Support and Maintenance to operational network systems known as Kestrel which is due to expire in April 2014.The systems are currently based in various operational/training locations around the world providing 24/7/365 telephone support. Due to operational demand there is a requirement to extend the current activity within the existing Kestrel Network contract from 1.5.14 - 31.3.15 covering the following areas:
The SDA will continue to be the author and custodian of all Kestrel Safety documentation, including Safety Case(s) and the Hazard Log in line with In-Service reporting.
Take ownership of the Joining Rules for the Kestrel Network ensuring no 3rd party utilises the Kestrel Network without meeting the requirements of connection.
Manage the Password Schema issuing changes to the schema every 6 months, report faults, propose corrective action, have knowledge of the cryptographic technology AEP IP cryptographic devices, be fully conversant with the accreditation status as per DSAS Accreditation and liaise with the MOD Networks Team Security Advisor to maintain the Kestrel Risk Management and Accreditation Document set.
Ensure that any planned changes to network configuration comply with the limitations/criteria of Kestrels approved accreditation status and highlight to the Authority any changes that are in contravention of the accreditation.
Have the ability to model the current network laydown and any proposed changes to that network, provide training and technical/maintenance support to enable the Authority to maintain currency of skills and knowledge.
The SDA shall review all proposed changes to the Kestrel Network, conduct impact assessments and recommend that the Authority either accepts or rejects these proposals.
The SDA shall be responsible for the generation, maintenance and retention of project documentation for all sites, specifically or including Configuration Management (CM) Network Schemes.

This Contract shall be placed under Technical grounds under Regulation 16(1) (a) (ii) of UK Public Contracts Regulations 2006.
