The Isle of Wight Council invited Tenders from suitably qualified providers for the provision of Sensory Impairment Services.
The contract is to run for a period of 3 years with the option to extend for a further period of up to 2 years at the sole discretion of the Council.
Sensory Impairment Services include the provision of the following services and supports:-
- Specialist assessments for the specific disability.
- Goal-orientated / outcome based support planning and delivery.
- Robust risk assessment.
- Individual Contingency Planning.
- Mobility and independence training.
- Maintenance of statutory disability registers on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council.
- Range of meaningful activity including, where appropriate, volunteering and employment.
- Support the development and maintenance of self help groups.
- Programmes to integrate / re-integrate service users into their local communities maximising people's independence reducing reliance on statutory services.
- Support and advice regarding the provision and maintenance of relevant equipment and assistive technology.
- General advice, support and guidance and signposting to other supports and agencies.
- The provision of a comprehensive hearing aid support service across the island through a range of accessible drop in centres (minimum of 7) within local communities and where the person is unable to access these centres people will receive a home visit.
