The contracting authority established a framework agreement for the supply of photovoltaic panels and associated equipment via an Open procedure in 2011. That framework was expressed to last for two years, with an option to extend for one further year.
The contracting authority intends to vary the framework agreement to permit it to extend the supplier's appointment to the framework by one additional year but the number of panels to be procured pursuant to its terms and value of the framework expressed in the original procurement will not be exceeded.
In addition, the contracting authority wishes to alter the specific names panels set out in the framework agreement to accommodate different PV panels and equipment to those which were named in the original framework but nevertheless comply with all of the minimum standards set out in the original procurement and specification.

Interested suppliers should note that the expected value of contracts entered into under the framework agreement by the Contracting Authority and its subsidiaries is approximately 10 000 000 GBP. The Contracting Authority currently anticipates that the value of call-off contracts entered into with other contracting authorities may be up to a further 440 000 000 GBP however, the Contracting Authority makes no representation or warranty on this point.
It is intended that the framework will be open to all contracting authorities operating in the areas covered by the following NUTs codes:
