Contract is for the communication links for the Council's alarm systems. The service includes the provision of a direct line purely dedicated to the alarm systems, which acts as the primary alarm delivery mechanism and is supported by a GSM mobile provision which acts as a failsafe back up mechanism should the primary mechanism fails.
The Alarm Connection system Links to the Council's Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) via various sites both internal and external to the Council.

Due to the disproportionate technical issues, the need for a continuation of critical alarm connection services and the additional capital switching costs, the re-negotiation of the current contract and direct award to the current provider is the approach which the Council has decided to follow at this point in time.The Contract award is for a period of 36 months during which the Council will carry out further soft market testing to ascertain whether current financial and technological issues have been removed and if the service requires a full procurement exercise to be undertaken for before the Contract expires on 31.1.2017.
