II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s)Nationally Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) re-use, recycling and composting rates have increased significantly in recent years. At the same time, the overall tonnage handled by HWRCs has significantly reduced. HWRCs are going through a period of adjustment with new material streams such as wood being considered to increase opportunities for re-use, recycling and composting.
The objective of this procurement is to provide a cost effective service for wood re-use, recycling or composting.
Scope of Services
1.1 Briefly, the Contractor is required to:
a) provide a suitable Delivery Point for receipt of Wood Waste delivered under the Contract,
b) ensure the Wood Waste is reprocessed so that it is re-used, recycled or composted,
c) comply with all applicable legislation relating to the Contract.
The contract will be for an initial term of one (1) year with the option to extend by a further period (s) not exceeding two (2) years in total. The maximum duration of the contract is three (3) years.
