The contract shall comprise the inspection, test and repair of Stairlifts and Domestic Lifts complying with BS5776:1996 (BS EN81-40:2008) Specification for Powered Stairlifts and BS5900:1999 Specification for Powered Domestic Lifts with partially enclosed cars and no lift-well enclosures. BS 5965:1980 Specification for manually driven balanced personal home lifts. BS 6440:1999 Power lifting platforms for use by disabled persons. Code of practice. All work complying with BS7255:2001 Safe Working on Lifts
There are approximately 483 lifts requiring a service visits as follows:
Stairlifts - 2 service visit to each unit per year. The visit is to be twelve months following the last date shown in the Schedule of Maintenance.
Through Floor Vertical lifts - Two service visits to each unit per-year. The first visit is to be 6 months following the last date shown in the Schedule of Maintenance and the second 6 months after the first.
These stairlifts are located in private homes. All types of stairlift are included in the contract for example Thyssen, Stannah, Bison Bede, Brooks and others.
The Contractor will also be require to provide 365 days per year out of hours emergency repair service when attendance on site must be within 2 hours of receipt of call.
The contract will be for an initial period of 12 months renewable annually for a maximum of up to 3 years commencing on 1.4.2014.
