II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s):
Network Rail is putting in place a multi-supplier Framework Arrangement for the purposes of using and exploiting Network Rail's telecom infrastructure in the provision of mobile voice and data services, together with rural broadband and other commercial services.
Network Rail is seeking multiple suppliers who are able to provide and potentially install trackside infrastructure along the England, Scotland, Wales rail corridor.
The Framework Arrangement has been divided into two lots, under which an appropriate number of Framework Agreements(s) may be awarded. The lots are as follows:
1) Mobile Network Gateway Devices,
2) FTN (Data IP) Access Devices.
Network Rail anticipates it may require up to three suppliers in each of the Lots.
The following services may be required under each lot:
a) Design,
b) Install/Configure/Test.
Network Rail reserves the right to vary the number of suppliers selected for each lot and the number of Framework Agreement(s) required to cover its requirements in those lots.
Under a separate Contract Notice, Network Rail is seeking one or more suppliers of mobile spectrum to facilitate improved on-train mobile connectivity along the England, Scotland, Wales rail network, including its own managed stations.

Network Rail also reserves the right to include within the Framework a right to terminate for convenience within the initial 5 year period.
