Somerset County Council are undertaking soft-market testing to inform the strategy for an upcoming procurement for hard-facilities management (notably electrical & mechanical, and building fabric maintenance services. In particular, consideration of the role of SMEs in a fully managed service.
The Hard FM services to be contracted can be summarised as the following activities;
- Life cycle and planned maintenance
- Small works
- Planned preventative maintenance
- Reactive maintenance
- Statutory maintenance
- Help desk
It is the intention of Somerset County Council to hold an Information-Sharing Open Day, during which applicants will be introduced to the procurement process and to scope the future strategy. This will be held in Taunton during 27.1.2014. For further information please contact John Houlihan at
