The University wishes to establish a 4 year framework for Design services to support the University's Estates Strategy. The services required from the Framework will be predominantly for Architectural and Lead Consultant Services. The University may on an ad hoc basis wish to appoint other Design Team services, which would include Building Services Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering and Environmental Engineering Services. The
University reserves the right to appoint other Design Team services through the lead consultant on projects, which would include Building Services Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering and Environmental Engineering Services, when a turnkey approach affords a better solution. In these instances the Architect must be able to provide these services through a sub-consultant or in-house. For projects that a turnkey solution is not
applied, the University will appoint providers for Building Services Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering and Environmental Engineering Services under separate appointments.
The envisaged scope of works to take place between 2013-17 include the development of a new sports centre building, residential halls of residence, new academic buildings, administration buildings, a new library building and the refurbishment of existing University facilities. It is estimated the construction value of projects to be undertaken between 2013-2017 will have an approximate value of 60 million GBP. The University wish to appoint 3 suppliers to the framework. Appointments will be made on a project by project basis, in line with the provisions set out in the Edge Hill University Design Services Framework Manual, which is contained in Volume 3 of the Invitation to Tender Documents.
