Leicestershire Highways Operations (LHO) in conjunction with Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation, are considering the feasibility of establishing a public contract for the provision of a managed service for highways materials whereby a sole supplier would ensure availability of a stock of all specified highways materials items and deliver them directly to Council sites / depots or allow for collection from the supplier's premises. This would include items that are currently covered by ESPO framework 801 (Supply of Highways Materials) and selected other ESPO frameworks.
LHO in conjunction with ESPO are now carrying out a market engagement exercise to test some of the assumptions made within their corporate review of this service and to engage suppliers in shaping the future procurement strategy.
Suppliers are invited to participate and provide their input into the proposed procurement strategy. At a Supplier Engagement Seminar that will be held at ESPO's office in Enderby, Leicestershire on 18.10.2013 where an overview of the service will be given by the Council, as well as some guidance on ESPO's evaluation process and an opportunity for those attending to ask any questions they may have. Attendance at the Supplier Engagement Seminar is optional.
