The Beyond Visual Range Air to Air Missile Project Team (BVRAAM PT), part of the UK Ministry of Defence, intends to award to Diehl Raytheon Missile Systeme GmbH (DRM) a contract for Post Design Services for the UK Sidewinder Missile Acquisition Round and Associated Equipment.
It is considered that this contract can be placed using the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice. Contract to be awarded to DRM because the company has exclusive knowledge of the design and therefore is best placed to support the missile and associated equipment. Following the cessation of the European Sidewinder Consortium all production license remains with the Government of Germany as the holder of the US-German coproduction Memorandum of Understanding. The Government of Germany has dedicated DRM as the Main Contractor for Sidewinder Support. No licences are available to the MOD or any third party and the support cannot be provided without access to these exclusive rights or facilities held by DRM and its sub contractor.
This notice is not a request for expressions of interest so please do not apply to be invited to tender. This notice advises that the Authority has decided to negotiate a contract with the named supplier on a single source basis and is published for reasons of transparency. If you are interested in becoming a sub-contractor for this requirement, you should apply directly to the named supplier.
