Kent Probation requires a service to help meet our responsibilities with regard to Public Protection and Reducing Reoffending. Specifically we are inviting Expressions of Interest in a Contract to deliver an accommodation, aid and advice service for offenders.
It will require the provider to process an anticipated 1 500 referrals and to open an anticipated 1 000 cases for each calendar year of the contract period.
The related contract performance outcome target will be for 70 % of all cases opened homeless on referral to result in settled accommodation, in line with our own Contract Management & Deliverable target with the National Offender Management Service (NOMS).
To help gauge your organisation's suitability to deliver this Programme in line with our requirements please note that initial selection criteria will include:
- organisational capacity to effectively respond to this level of referral activity from our 8 Probation Offices located across Kent & Medway and Approved Premises in Maidstone and to achieve the required outcomes
- knowledge and full commitment to working within the context of the Criminal Justice System alongside a thorough understanding of the accommodation and related support needs of offenders
- strong current working knowledge of homelessness and housing legislation and related welfare benefits.
