Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a sole strategic partner for the provision of a managed service for their Department of Microbiology for laboratory equipment, maintenance, servicing, consumables and reagents.
The General Microbiology element consists of automated systems for blood culture, antimicrobial susceptibility / identification, and Mycobacterium culture.
The Molecular Diagnostics element consists of molecular tests for a number of targets including Chlamydia trachomatis, Nesseria gonorrhoea, Herpes simplex virus, MRSA, Clostridium difficile, Norovirus and respiratory viruses. This includes both one-off single tests and batch testing where appropriate. Systems must be able to provide automated extraction and detection. It is anticipated that other items will be incorporated within the life of the awarded contract and as the service develops the repertoire of targets will be increased over the life of the contract.
