The Services are to implement a programe of Lean Thinking training/coaching and process improvement across a number of Delivery Units. The approach shall be largely based around on - the- job process improvements of waste with a large degree of knowledge transfer to Network Rails employees. The service is required to drive , direct and engage people in the Lean transformation including expanding the application and internalisation into other areas and other levels of the organisation.
a) The Services to be delivered by the Supplier shall comprise equivalent Lean Thinking coaches with a proven capability of developing Lean Thinking in railway teams and experience in working in a unionised, industrial environment such as the railways.
b) Coach and assist the local management teams in running the Control Room effectively.
c) Coach and assist the local management teams to implement 5S regime and link the reporting on 5S progress to the function of the Control Room.
d) Coach and assist the local management teams to implement root cause analysis tools and link that to the function of the Control Room.
e) Coach and assist the local management teams to implement PDCA in their teams and link that to the function of the Control Room.
