The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council ("the council") sought suitable and experienced contractors to enter into a framework arrangement for the provision of Winter Maintenance services to highways which the council is responsible for across the district, to supplement those undertaken by the council. The framework will consist of two lots which will cover.
1) the provision of driver only - To the supply of drivers to supplement the councils own staff for winter maintenance duties.
2) the provision of driver and vehicle - To the supply of suitably equipped vehicles as required by the council complete with driver to undertake winter maintenance duties.
With the services required including but not limited to patrols, gritting and snow clearance. The exact requirements and volumes needed can not be determined as this will be dependent upon the prevailing conditions at the time of the need.
The framework will run from the 1.11.2010 and will be for a period of 3 years with the option to extend by a further one year period subject to the council still having need for the service and contractor performance. All values quoted are indicative only as the council can not guarantee future levels of need.
