This unit will have a working length of around 5 metres and will allow demonstration of various magnitudes of wave strength. This unit will artificially, due to being inside and not subjected to the sun, allow an understanding of the principles of solar energy. The unit will come complete with a stable and adequate adjustable light source to enable independent experiments. These experiments must be reproducible. Lot No: 5 Lot title: Organic waste treatment plant
1)Short description
A unit to create an understanding of the opportunities for the production of a range of reduced bioenergy sources such as: methane, hydrogen and ethanol, from biodegradable organic material. This includes both waste organics (food, biodegradable municipal, sewage sludge and industrial waste) and purpose grown energy crops. The major route for production of such energy sources is by anaerobic digestion, which can be undertaken in a range of process configurations, and with physical pre-treatment appropriate to the organic feedstock. A data acquisition output connection is required providing simple ASCII text files to allow manipulation on spread sheets.
It would be ideal if the anaerobic digestion unit could operate under semi-continuous/batch conditions and had coupled online monitoring systems for measuring in real time biogas composition (e.g. CH4, H2S, CO2) and environmental variables inside the reactor (e.g., temperature, pH, etc).

A self-contained unit for creating small batches of Ethanol from biological raw materials complete with PLC control. It would be ideal if the unit also had touchscreen input control for ease of use.
