RE: PTQ Documents - Supply & Delivery of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables.
Rotherham MBC is seeking expressions of interest in the form of a Pre Tender Questionnaire (PTQ) in respect of a sole provider for the supply and delivery of Fresh Fruit & Vegetables, which all of the local authorities in the UK may call-off orders.
Call-off contracts will be for the supply and delivery of fresh fruit and vegetables every week to Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Councils Schools and Neighbourhood establishments as and when required. (usually twice/three times a week).

Pre Tender Questionnaire (PTQ) documents are available via the SCMS Alito e-tendering system: http://scms.alito.co.uk. All documentation must be returned through this system.

All interested parties must complete and electronically return the completed PTQ document via the SCMS Alito e-tendering system. Tender documents will not be accepted by any other means.
The closing date for the return of PTQ documents is 17:00hrs on 3.12.2012.
Shortlisted suppliers will be invited to tender.

The agreement will be a framework agreement let by Rotherham Borough Council for the benefit of Rotherham Borough Council and other Contracting Authorities who may wish to call-off orders under the agreement. Rotherham Borough Council will be a central purchasing body for this purpose.

The Contracting Authorities who will be entitled to call-off orders under the agreement are one or more of the other 22 Local Authorities within the Yorkshire/Humber Region and all of the local authorities in the United Kingdom, details of which can be found in the Municipal Yearbook published by Hemming Information Services, a division of the Hemming Group Limited, whose e-mail address is: .

The providers who are invited to the 2nd stage of tender bidding stage will be expected to provide sufficient information to satisfy Rotherham Council of its:
Ability to demonstrate experience and proven track record in operating similar services.
Knowledge and understanding of similar services in operation.
Experience of successful relationships and working with Local Authorities.
Experience of issues and problems encountered in delivering similar services and its experiences of overcoming them.
Experience of effective relationship management in terms of product availability/quality and timeliness of availability.
Understanding of how the scheme operates in relation to Food for Schools scheme and our directives.
