UCLan wishes to appoint External Auditors to the UCLan Group from 1 August 2012 to 31 July 2019. The appointment will be reviewed annually within this period but the contract will not extend beyond 2019. UCLan is a growing international higher education group which is reflected in its group structure. The parent organisation, the University of Central Lancashire, is an exempt charity regulated by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), however there are subsidiaries in the group registered in Hong Kong and People's Republic of China and joint ventures registered in Cyprus and Thailand.
It is looking to appoint an audit firm that can demonstrate experience of auditing an international education group and that can provide the levels of assurance that satisfy the University Board and the group's regulators, particularly on those matters identified in the HEFCE document "Model Financial Memorandum between HEFCE and institutions".
