Recruitment services. In order to sustain their operational capability, the UK’s Armed Forces need to enlist annually in the region of 33 000 (regular and reserve) new recruits from the UK, Germany and the Commonwealth. The Army’s share of this is in the region of 23 000 new recruits. This requirement is currently delivered through a mix of in-house and industry provided skills and services, but undertaken, with the exception of ICT, separately by the Army, RAF and RN. In an increasingly challenging recruiting environment, however, the Armed Forces need to gain and maintain a competitive edge in order to deliver and retain sufficient numbers of quality recruits. Concurrently there is both a need and an opportunity to update and replace existing technology and infrastructure, and improve contracting arrangements.
MoD therefore seeks to engage an industry partner to support its recruiting services, from the point of receipt of the initial recruiting target to the securing of an individual’s commitment to the Armed Forces and, in so doing, optimise the mix of military and industry expertise delivering such services. MoD is keen to embrace the opportunities that leading edge technology and industry’s expertise may bring to Armed Forces recruiting both now and throughout the life of a 10 year contractual arrangement.
