East Sussex County Council gives notice that it plans to publish a contract notice in order to commence a procurement to identify a supplier or suppliers for the provision of Next Generation Broadband infrastructure across East Sussex, Brighton & Hove to enable sustainable access for at least 90 % of all eligible premises and faster downstream connectivity of at least 2Mbps for all eligible premises, all by not later than 2015. The total value of the contract over its life time is currently envisaged to be between 50 000 000 GBP and 100 000 000 GBP. This range includes a public sector contribution of approximately 25.64m GBP, composed of an allocation of 10.64 million GBP from Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) and a substantial commitment of up to 15 000 000 GBP from East Sussex County Council. Other funding sources, such as from EU Funding Streams, may also be accessed and there is an expectation that significant private sector investment will be made by the supplier. Estimated cost excluding VAT: Range: between 50 000 000 GBP and 100 000 000 GBP.
