Providing condition specific patient information is a key element in the overall treatment for patients, it helps not only to re-assure patients but also supports them to manage their own recovery and healing as best as possible. Appropriate patient information also gives patients the knowledge to know when to seek further help / information which can possibly stop a problem escalating unnecessarily. There are numerous well defined patient presentations to emergency departments, things such as minor fractures, sprains, cuts and so on which we can help patients in self caring once they go home. The information is to be provided in the form of leaflets containing information relating to the patient’s presentation. The leaflets will be available at Accident and Emergency Departments, and potentially other areas at Authority sites at Solihull Hospital and the Heartlands and Good Hope hospitals in Birmingham.
The purpose of putting this out to tender is to secure a provider who can make available this service to us in a mutually beneficial way by enabling that provider to use the opportunity to communicate with a wide audience which could be beneficial to that provider. It is envisaged that, in return for an upfront rebate by the successful provider to the Authority, the successful provider be permitted to place advertising or similar information that has been pre approved by the Authority, alongside public announcements, on leaflets and potentially other information publications.
