Bury Council including Six Town Housing (an arm's length management organisation who has responsibility for maintaining the Council's housing stock) is seeking to appoint a suitable organisation to provide quality furniture/furnishings for use in its furnished tenancies and temporary accommodation properties.
Six Town Housing currently manage a total of 235 properties which may increase throughout the duration of the contract.
The contract will also be utilised by the council's Inclusion Service for the furnishing of their properties. Bury Community Resettlement Service is required to provide temporary accommodation to people who come into the Borough who claim homelessness status. These properties consist of a mixture of 2 and 3 bedroom properties and are located in different areas within the boundaries of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury. They are placed into different categories as follows:
- 25 houses used to accommodate emergency refugees which are used for the gateway programme before they are moved into permanent accommodation;
- 50 properties that are used to house Singles and homeless customers within the inclusion service;
The successful tenderer will be able to demonstrate that they can:
- Provide a complete 1 stop service which supplies goods, delivers on the date the tenant moves in, places all goods in situ, fits any white goods and provides a removal and disposal service when required;
- Provide a proven track record of working professionally with other housing providers in this area of provision;
- Provide a service that can be tailored to meet our requirements;
- Provide good value, quality furniture that meets British Standards and is both practical and durable;
- Offer a streamlined administration process;
- Offer a fast response to orders placed with them and ensure that agreed delivery and fitting time-scales are met;
- Offer a responsive after sales service.
The contract is for the period 1.3.2016 to 31.8.2017 with an option to extend the contract for a further 12 months.
