II.4)Short description of nature and quantity or value of supplies or services:
Devon County Council (DCC) need to replace the existing fleet maintenance contract which will have been in place for 10 years by the 31.3.2017. Currently DCC has a fleet of 400 vehicles which require servicing, maintenance and associated works. All of the vehicles are owned by DCC. The fleet comprises of the following vehicles: - Cars - Vans - 4 x 4 vehicles, pick-ups and land rovers - MPV's (standard and wheelchair enabled) - Wheelchair accessible 9 seater minibuses - 16 seater minibuses - Wheelchair accessible 16 seater minibuses - Library vans (less than 7.5t) (It should be noted that DCC's winter maintenance fleet is maintained via a separate contract) DCC is seeking a contractor(s) to maintain its vehicles which are dispersed throughout Devon and ideally are seeking workshop facilities in the vicinity of Barnstaple and Exeter. The contract will operate for 5 years from the 1.4.2017 to the 31.3.2022 with possible extensions of 2 x 1 year. Operators will be required to provide a wide range of vehicle services including servicing, provision of MOT's, repairs, vehicle recovery and potentially vehicle delivery and collection. To inform the market of its intentions DCC wish to deliver a supplier day for organisations which may find this contract of interest. This will be held at the Devon Drivers Centre, Devon County Show Ground, Clyst St Mary, Exeter, Devon on the 4.5.2016 at 9:30.
