The Waterways is a 7 acre park, included on the register of historic parks and gardens as grade II. The project aims to carry out a comprehensive restoration of the park including the historic planting schemes, structures and hard landscaping. As well as redevelopment of the ‘island café’.
A Round 1 Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) Grant has been awarded to develop the proposals to RIBA Plan of Works Stage 3, to assist with the submission of a Round 2 application. Progression of the project and the consultants commission beyond RIBA Plan of Work Stage 3 will be dependent upon receipt of a Round 2 grant from the HLF.
The contract is for both sections of the park (waterways and boating lake) and you should note that this tender will cover the entire delivery of the project in 2 stages (development and delivery) for which appointment will include a break clause between the 2 stages. This will be at the discretion of GYBC and dependent on the award of a delivery grant from HLF and the performance of the consultant team.
