Early Market Engagement Event Background: Within the next 12 months Devon County Council will be tendering for a service supporting people with dementia and their carers. The exact scope of this service has not yet been confirmed. Devon County Council are in the pre-procurement stage. This meeting will provide an opportunity to bring together potential providers, policy leads, commissioners, voluntary sector and subject experts. To explore what the new service could look like, the outcome of the meeting will feed in to the development of the service specification which will be tendered later in 2016. The budget is not known at this stage. This event will continue development of the dementia pathway using the framework published by NHS England (attached), concentrating on ‘Supporting Well' and "Living Well” elements. As outcomes from this meeting we aim to: 1. Develop a clear vision for dementia care -’what should I expect'. 2. Understand and share what works well - what does good look like? 3. Identify gaps and duplication. 4. Identify opportunities for integration and collaboration. The event is being led by NEW Devon CCG and DCC joint commissioning along with commissioning and provider partners in South Devon & Torbay and is being facilitated by Steve Milton - Innovations in Dementia. We are inviting a range of partners across statutory, private, voluntary and independent sectors and will be arranging parallel involvement of people with dementia and their carers.
