The intention of this PIN is to inform Wales & West Utilities Limited (WWU) of the market options available with regard to the supply of Gas Chromatography equipment.
WWU is interested in identifying potential providers of such equipment to replace the existing product currently being used.
Expressions of Interest received will be used to evaluate available market options, inform the potential scope for a subsequent formal sourcing process, provide pricing information for budgeting purposes, form the basis of an internal business case, and identify which suppliers WWU may approach to participate in the formal sourcing process.

Interested operators must inform the contracting entity that they are interested in the contract(s). The contract(s) will be let without subsequent publication of a call for competition This requirement is for Gas Chromatographs for determination of gas composition and calorific value where gas passes from the National Transmission System into WWU's network.
GCs must meet the following criteria:
- Approved by Ofgem at the time of contract award for use for determination of calorific values for the purpose of calculation of the number of kilowatt hours under section 12 of the Gas Act 1986,
- Repeatability (according to ISO 6876 par. 9.1.1): <0.01 % for all calculated properties;
- Carrier gas typically zero-grade helium;
- Operating conditions in the range of -15 degrees to +45 degrees Celsius or greater;
- To hold ATEX certification for equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres;
- Free-standing or wall mounted with approximate dimensions of H 170cm x W 55cm x D 60cm;
- Current power requirements 220V AC ±15 % 50/60Hz;
- Will work unattended.
