Due to the unprecedented demands placed on PSNI staff during the 2013 G8 summit and the unforeseeable civil unrest over the summer period, the procurement exercise to establish a new contract for Managed Vehicle Recovery Services contract was not instigated on time to align it with the current contract end date. As a result and in order to ensure continuity of service to PSNI, the contract with the current provider will be extended from the 1.2.2014 until the 31.7.2014. This is an interim extension solely for the purpose of facilitating the procurement exercise which will establish a new contract. It is anticipated that this new opportunity will be published via the OJEU by the end of February 2014.
