NIW operates a substantial range of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, telemetry & control equipment to enable the provision of high quality water and sewerage services to its customers. M&E; Services is responsible for the maintenance of this equipment to facilitate its on-going reliable and efficient operation. M&E; Services provides technical advice and expertise as well as effectively coordinating the day-to-day maintenance activities of the associated front-line maintenance teams thus contributing to the organisation's overall strategic business aims. M&E; are responsible for the preventative maintenance, repair and replacement of waste water and water supply pumps at approximately 3500 sites across NIW. This new C680 Contract is to cover legacy pump equipment at NIW's sites and provide M&E; Services with a continuity of service. Although replacement pumps will be purchased via this C680 framework contract, larger scale pump purchasing is conducted by NIW's Engineering Procurement (EP) Directorate through its capital works programme. To deliver this capital works programme a new integrated Capex and Opex framework for Water and Wastewater pumps and mixers is being developed. This integrated framework will focus on securing better value for money by maximising economies of scale and improving standardisation.
