II.4)Short description of nature and quantity or value of supplies or services:The Department wishes to appoint a specialist marine consultant to advise and provide project management support for two new ferries: one across Strangford Lough and one to Rathlin Island. The consultancy service will include determining the design specifications for the two vessels as well as overseeing the procurement, construction and delivery of the two vessels.
The Department wishes to engage with the potential suppliers in order to fully develop the specification for this specialist marine consultancy service. This engagement could take the form of either: face-to-face discussions in the Department's offices in Belfast, video conferencing or correspondence; depending on the preferences of each supplier. The engagement would be restricted to 9am to 5pm from Tuesday 5th August until Thursday 9th August 2013.
