Jersey General Hospital are looking for Bedside Cabinets and Overbed Tables, which need to meet the following specification:
- Material should be durable, wipe clean plastic that reduces the number of hard to reach corners e.g. rotationally molded plastic.
- Surface must be able to withstand the use of Hypochlorite Solution and tolerate Hydrogen Peroxide Vapourisation.
- There is to be no wood designed into the furniture.
- Furniture should be easily moveable and ‘light’ to allow staff to turn over for thorough cleaning.
- Ideally, wheels should be able to be removed to ease the cleaning process (although this is not essential).
- There should be no ‘exposed screws’ anywhere on the design.
Bedside Cabinets Specific
- There should be a large enough space for patient belongings.
- There are to be no locks on the cabinet.
- Wheels should have a brake on them.
Overbed Tables Specific
- There is no requirement for tables to be tilted/folded.
- Tables should have a raised lip to contain spillages.
