In October 2012, as part of their approval of Proposition P82/2012 (the New Way Forward for Health and Social Care), the States Assembly requested that proposals to develop a new model of Primary Care (where 'Primary Care' for this purpose is defined as General Medical Practitioners, Dentists, high street Optometrists and Community Pharmacists), are completed by the end of 2014.
The purpose of this tender exercise is to seek proposals for the development of a new model of Primary Care. The required models must ensure that sustainable, high quality Primary Care is available and accessible for Islanders and is integrated within the spectrum of other health and social services that Jersey residents need.
It is intended that this project will build on previous work and outputs that have been progressing since November 2010 and that the work will be based on International best practice and will consider a range of professionals working within Primary Care settings.
Interested bidders will only be considered credible if they can demonstrate their detailed, deep subject knowledge, experienced leadership and the skills and capacity to fully engage and consider a range of views and concerns.
