Guernsey Water is looking to replace two marine outfalls off the east coast of the Island that serve the BGWwC:
- The "long sea outfall” - a 625/685mm id 1700 metre long marine outfall that discharges preliminary treated dry weather flows and multiples of DWF up to a maximum of 1000l/s, and
- The "short sea outfall” - 1 900mm id 450 metre long marine outfall that discharges storm flow in excess of the 1000l/s that is passed through the LSO.
Marine and coastal modelling has shown that the optimum zone for discharge of the LSO flows is approximately 350-400 metres further out into the Little Russel area.
