Term Contract for Maintenance and Improvement of Structures 2012 may include but not be limited to the following, which are provided by way of example:
a. stonework and masonry;
b. brickwork and blockwork;
c. sprayed concrete;
d. emergency responses (minor repairs and/or inspections);
e. concrete repairs;
f. pressure pointing;
g. traffic management;
h. working with services / utilities;
i. safety fences and parapet replacement;
j. silane treatment;
k. reinforced concrete construction and reconstruction;
l. bridge expansion joints;
m. structural steel painting;
n. installation of precast culverts;
o. other associated ancillary work.

description of these options: The term contract shall be 14 months in duration commencing the 30.4.2012 and ending on the 30.6.2013. In the event the Employer is unable for any reason to award by the 30.4.2012 the end date will remain the same. In the event the Employer is unable for any reason to award a new contract to replace this contract, the term may be extended for a further period or periods up to a maximum of 6 months.

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement, and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender.
