The University tendered for Master Planning services for its Jordanstown Campus which is located on the Northern shores of Belfast Lough in a suburban environment 5 miles from Belfast City Centre.
Following an option appraisal the University has approved the transfer of the majority of its courses and operations from Jordanstown to Belfast, to a purpose built facility in the City Centre.
In parallel with the Greater Belfast Development programme there is a requirement to obtain approval in principal from Planning Service for an overall master plan for the surplus lands at the Jordanstown Campus. It is the Universitys intention to dispose of these lands in a phased manner in order to optimise the value and minimise the operational impact on the campus prior to decanting in 2018. The University proposes to retain Sports facilities and some engineering/research buildings on the Jordanstown campus post 2018.

Precise information on deadline(s) for lodging appeals: The University incorporated a standstill period at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers. That notification provided full information on the award decision. The standstill period, which was for a minimum of 10 calendar days, provided time for unsuccessful tenderers to challenge the award decision before the contract was entered into.
The Public Contracts Regulations 2006 (SI 2006 No 5) provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the High Court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland).
